A wine that I adore and for good reason: I had the pleasure of tasting it at the estate in a magnificent setting. It was Napoleon's favorite sweet wine and I know why.
What I particularly appreciate is that it has the richness and complexity of the very best Sauternes while being light and airy thanks to an extremely powerful acid frame that is perfectly suited to the sugar content. So we can come back to it again and again.
The 2019 has the particularity of being able to be drunk now if you are looking for the ardor of youth or to be expected for decades if you want complexity above all.
The aromas play a score where each perfume is perfectly in its place on the olfactory scene: The heart of pears, lemon pie, quince and peach supports the standouts: apricot, bitter orange, dried mango and honeysuckle.
On the palate, the purity of the wine, its sweetness and its acidic freshness allow you to marvel at the multiple flavors of tangerine, pastry, pear, peach, caramel, honey, ginger and saffron which unfold amply on a very long finish. (F.Z)

Of impeccable textural quality, lively and pulsating, it is a serious, opulent and powerful wine, more spicy and nuanced with aspects of dried herbs, scents of wood, lemon and bitter orange. with a touch of honeyed lychee. It is extremely complex and full of character. Sophisticated, layered and balanced, it has some minerality and a slight hint of graphite, which add to the package. It is still extremely young, but it is truly sculpted, with a sense of precision, style and freshness. Well designed, it has a very long lifespan ahead of it. A marvel and one of the best wines of the estate!

Vin de Constance takes the sweet wine category to the next level, and this wine is another stunning achievement from them. Expect luscious wines of pear, quince, apple, peach pit, tarte tatin, wonderfully seductive and opulent, but never overstepping the bounds. Second year on the spot for this emblematic wine. Brilliant, medium to deep gold in color, it features concentrated, pure aromas of honeysuckle, fresh vanilla, lemon tart, dried mango, ginger and a hint of saffron. It's certainly sweet enough, but not creamy, and the natural, effortless acidity manages to balance out the lushness. Intense, yet fragrant and naturally expressive. Persistent finish. You'll want a second glass if you drink it now, but you could also keep it for a decade in your cellar.

The Vin de Constance 2019 is aged for 18 months in 500-litre Hungarian and French oak barrels, 50% of which are new, then an additional 18 months in oak casks. The growing season saw more hours of sunshine than previous vintages (2,998 compared to 2,588 in 2018 for example). Its nose is discreet, almost similar to that of a Sauternes, even if it does not contain an ounce of botrytis. Subtle nutty aromas percolate through the scents of wild honey and quince, wax resin and lanolin. The palate is medium-bodied and very pure. With a disarming and fine acidity, it is slightly Germanic on the finish, with a hint of lemongrass that lingers in the aftertaste. This is a superb wine from Constance under the direction of Matt Day, which approaches what one might confusingly call an unsweetened dessert wine.
