An intense, full-bodied wine but with magnificent presence and perfect freshness on silky tannins.

Blackberries, blackcurrants, blue and black fruits and blueberries are enhanced by notes of licorice, sage, cigar, fresh thyme and bitter chocolate.

The wine is dazzling, rich, pure and tasty, with impressive intensity.

To be enjoyed around a rack of lamb with thyme.

A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2019 Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon is another wonderfully evocative triumph from this pioneering Pitchard Hill family business. A deep garnet-purple color, it tumbles from the glass with deep aromas of crème de cassis, preserved blackberry, licorice and blackberry, as well as notes of unsmoked cigar, wild sage and tar. The medium to full-bodied palate has fantastic intensity and presence, with ripe, fine-grained tannins and bold freshness, and finishes with a long, mineral finish.

The flagship of this great estate is the Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, which is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. It features an incredible nose of pure blue fruits as well as flowers, crushed stone, fresh thyme, tobacco and graphite. Deep, rich, full-bodied and concentrated, it is nonetheless light, with wonderfully integrated acidity, polished tannins and an excellent finish. This classic and quintessential mountain Cabernet Sauvignon will benefit from 2 to 4 years of bottle aging and will last for 20, 30, even 40 years if stored correctly. 3800 cases.

Nose of blackberries, blueberries, black licorice, ink and flowers. Tar too. The palate is full-bodied, with sumptuous, integrated tannins that intertwine to form pure velvet. The finale is endless. Wonderful balance and harmony. Released in 2022. Great to drink now, but will be even better in 2023 and beyond.

Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux) : 99/100

This is an excellent example of fruity mountain cabernet, produced by renowned winemaker Philip Corallo-Titus and manager David Frankie. The color is a ruby stained with glass; it is intense and concentrated, with inky waves of blueberries and blackcurrant, blocks of bitter dark chocolate, velvety tannins which take their time to let the fruit express itself. This is a very small production wine from the wonderful 2019 vintage (for me, which goes against some American critics). Delicious. First time on the Bordeaux market, and a wine that stands out among the wines of the year. 100% new French oak.

International Wine Report : 98/100

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Prichard Hill estate is a real favorite in this vintage. It instantly impresses with its intense aromas of cassis and ripe black cherries, complemented by exotic spices, graphite, dark chocolate, violets and savory herbs that combine beautifully. On the palate, this wine has a generous and well-structured body, with large, polished tannins, while displaying remarkable balance and concentration. It continues to impress, offering layers of gorgeous ripe dark fruit that build to the long, opulent finish that lingers. Prichard Hill Estate Cabernet exhibits a remarkable combination of power and sophistication and while it is already sensational, it should continue to age remarkably well for decades to come.

The 2019 Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon, with 5% Petit Verdot in the blend, is a deep garnet-purple color. Aromas of blackcurrant pastilles, candied violets, chocolate-covered cherries and clove oil escape from the glass and hint at notes of fragrant earth and cedar chest. The rich, full-bodied palate offers powerful, enveloping dark fruitiness, a velvety texture and flawless freshness, and finishes with a lingering note of fragrant earth.
