Klein Constancia Vin de Constance 2018 (50 cl)

A wine that I love and for good reason: I had the pleasure of tasting it at the property in a magnificent setting. It was Napoleon's favorite sweet wine and I know why.
What I particularly appreciate is that it has the richness and complexity of the very best Sauternes while being of an airy lightness thanks to an extremely powerful acid frame but which is perfectly adapted to the sugar load. Suddenly, we can come back to it again and again.
The 2018 has the particularity of being able to be drunk now if you are looking for the ardor of youth or to be expected for decades if you want complexity above all.
The aromas play a partition where each perfume is perfectly in its place on the olfactory scene: The heart of pears, honey and white peach flowers supports the soloists: apricot, dried fruits, citrus fruits, raisins, orange blossom, vanilla.
On the palate, the purity of the wine, its sweetness and its acid freshness allow to marvel at the multiple flavors of mandarin, pastry, pear, peach, caramel, honey, ginger and saffron which unfold widely on a very long finish. (F.Z)
To be enjoyed with blue cheese, pineapple carpaccio, crème brûlée or duck with orange.
A magnificent wine, with a brilliant texture and such intensity, without being overpowering or excessive. The overall feel is so satiny, smooth and intense with layers of wild honey, orange blossom, caramel, pear, white peach and a delicate smokiness. The aromas alone are enough to get you excited about this wine. A density of sweetness settles at the back of the throat, reminding you that this is a sweet wine because there is so much freshness and life in it. Everything is in balance and in its place. Exceptional. Drink now to take advantage of its youth or wait for its development.

Extraordinary aromas of white peaches, apricots, vanilla and flowers. Full-bodied and very smooth, with so much dried and sweet fruit, like apricots and tangerines, it still retains a citrus freshness and texture, with a long, very smooth finish. Always energetic and lively. Great length for this wine. It goes on for minutes. It is a sweet wine to drink young, to marvel at its intensity and verve, but also a wine to age for decades. To drink or to keep.

Another brilliant nose of Vin de Constance. Very floral, with notes of fresh grapes, raisins and honey. The palate is fleshy and complex with spices. Ginger, lemongrass and yuzu are present along with other notes of honey and raisin. Despite the softness, there is a lightness of touch. Vibrant and powerful fruit, ginger and saffron linger on a very long finish.

Made from raisined Muscat de Frontignan grapes - only the 1997 and 2011 versions had some botrytis - this wine is the latest in a series of world-class Vin de Constance releases. Showing remarkable purity and elegance, despite the heat of 2018, it has 60% new wood, 172 grams of sugar, nice balance, racy acidity and flavors of pastry, tangerine and pear. . The very essence of Muscat.
